Aerospace Materials Specialist

Control aerospace material specifications, traceability, shelf life and supplier conformance.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain approved material and process specifications
  • Verify lot traceability, certifications and shelf-life records
  • Control storage, handling and out-time requirements for sensitive materials
  • Disposition expired, suspect or nonconforming material with quality
  • Support material substitution and equivalency reviews
  • Coordinate supplier conformance and material test reports

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years in materials control, quality or process engineering in aerospace manufacturing
  • Bachelor's degree in materials science, metallurgy, chemical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with material specifications, certificates of conformance and traceability
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 material control requirements
  • Strong documentation and audit-readiness habits

Preferred certifications

NADCAP materials testing awareness
Six Sigma Green Belt
AS9100 internal auditor
Hazardous materials handling
Certifications are recorded as self-reported until verified documentation is reviewed.
