CNC Machinist / Programmer

Set up, program and run multi-axis machining centers for aerospace components.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis machining centers
  • Write and edit G-code programs from drawings and models
  • Select tooling, feeds and speeds for aerospace alloys
  • Verify parts with precision measurement and in-process inspection
  • Perform first article and setup approval runs
  • Maintain tooling, offsets and machine preventive maintenance

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC setup and operating experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
  • Ability to program or edit G-code at the control and with CAM software
  • Experience machining aluminum, titanium, stainless or nickel alloys
  • Ability to read GD&T drawings and work to tight tolerances
  • Technical certificate or equivalent on-the-job training

Preferred certifications

NIMS CNC certification
Mastercam or GibbsCAM training
Six Sigma Yellow Belt
Lean manufacturing training
Certifications are recorded as self-reported until verified documentation is reviewed.
